Hannah studied Design at the University of Brighton and grew up in a creative household, where she saw her parents renovate their family home from top to bottom. From a young age, she was inspired by property restoration and was driven by the idea of a creative career.
After graduating, Hannah moved to Vancouver, Canada, where she worked for a property developer. She enjoyed learning about the industry from the client side. Managing the design involved working with contractors and purchasers, to ensure the design intent was met and each suite was delivered to a high standard, in a timely manner.
After returning to the UK, she worked as a designer for a high-end kitchen company, which gave her a greater understanding of the functionality of space, the practicality of different materials and the technical side of a project. This included coordinating with M&E to ensure the design was not only aesthetically pleasing, but functional and compliant.
Three years ago, she made the transition to the other side of the industry, as a Design Co-ordinator at BECK. Working primarily on hotels, she now works with Architects, Designers, and Contractors to make the client’s concept a reality. A glimpse of her role includes chairing design workshops, reviewing drawings, finishes and building regulations and producing creative design solutions.
Hannah says: “I love that each job is unique, with each new design comes a new set of challenges for the team to overcome. It is incredibly rewarding to see a project through, from conceptual design to a reality.”
